Embodied Grief & Joy

a sacred encounter

Sunday ~ August 11, 2024 ~ 2-5 PM ~ Asheville, NC

What to Expect

We will circle together in a private outdoor space in the Asheville, NC area. After getting settled, you will be guided to enter a quiet space of inner reflection that will lead into practices involving movement and embodied expression. You will be held in a group, yet within your own process; if it feels right for you, you will have the opportunity to share with others in smaller groups of 2-3 people.

There will be a brief break for light refreshments, time to walk around, tend your personal needs & talk with others.

We will then circle back together and move into the second phase of our journey together that mirrors the pattern of the first. Afterwards, we will all come together and create an impermanent expression of our collective experience.

The whole time will be a ritual, a ceremony, a sacred space for the human expressions of grief and joy.

Befriend grief

embrace joy

By learning to welcome the paradoxical presence of both grief and joy, you can expand into greater resilience and compassion for your journey. We don’t bypass or transcend grief AND we welcome life's invitations of joy.

I will support and guide you on an inner journey with outward expression. Together we will move with our own expressions of grief and joy in ways that feel safe, grounded, and authentic to each person. The methods are ancient and innate: movement, music, voice, color and contemplation. There is no experience necessary; simply an open heart willing to explore the edges of your own human experience.

Is this grief counseling?

No, this is not grief counseling or therapy. Though Kristie is trained as a mental health counselor and provides a trauma-informed space, she does not work as a therapist.

This event is not a grief circle for sharing loss stories. If you are in acute grief and cannot hold space for your emotions in a group, this isn’t the best space for you at this point of your journey.

This event involves befriending grief, so being present with yourself is crucial. We will witness each other and learn to stay with our own experiences. You are the one you've been waiting for!

I experienced a devastating loss within the last 6 months. is it too soon for this encounter?

Most likely, yes. Grief doesn't follow a timeline, though the first year after a life-altering loss is very tender.

Grief is not linear, and there is no right or wrong way—don’t rush the process, just learn what you need and how to meet those needs.

If you've never had grief counseling or consistent support on your grief journey, this isn't the space to begin.

This event is for those who have been dealing with their grief and want more support, and for those who see their loss as a catalyst for living a more conscious and intentional life.

If you are unsure if this is right for you at this time, email me at enspirare@gmail.com to schedule a 10-minute call.

what Frameworks inform your work?

Kristie views herself and the world through the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS). Supported by training in traditional and somatic IFS, as well as a decade of personal IFS deep diving, she holds a welcoming space for parts.

She has also studied HeartMath, nervous system regulation, attachment patterns, quantum field & energy healing, Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work, multi-dimensional consciousness, intuitive guidance & mediumship.

Kristie sees people as divine humans on a journey to remember our true nature, and our bodies as the incarnational presence of our Soul Light.

She believes that our external relationships reflect our parts' relationships within ourselves, and that cultivating our inner worlds is a practical spiritual path that leads to radical transformation with a ripple effect throughout time.

As within, so without. As above, so below.

What Do I need to bring?

We will meet outside, held in a private space in Nature near Asheville, NC. We will be sitting on the ground; if you'd like, bring a blanket, a cushion or small camping chair.

Wear something you feel ease and comfort to move in. Since we'll be exploring with color, consider clothing you wouldn't mind accidentally getting acrylic paint on. Smocks will be provided.

I'm not creative. Is this for me?

Yes, it is! This encounter isn't about creating any product; it is all about the process and harnessing our innate power to express ourselves beyond words. During grief, the right and left hemispheres of our brains become over and under active. When we access our innate creative nature, our brains come into greater balance and we actually feel better as a result. Creative expression is a powerful tool on our journeys with grief.

what do you mean by exploring Grief and joy through voice, music, movement and color?

These are all paths of embodied and creative expression which support the emotion - energy in motion - to move as it wants to. You will be guided to honor what feels good to you as we explore embodied practices.

This isn't a workshop to create a product, learn a skill or to perform. It is an encounter with the parts of ourselves who are grieving and our True Nature, drawing on methods humans have used for millenia. We are all creative beings & our lives are our canvas!

What's covered in the cost?

The cost of this event covers the materials (papers, paints, smocks, take home items, refreshments) and Kristie's time of preparation and for the event itself.

If your heart says YES to attending and you need financial assistance, reach out and together we will co-create a path for you to attend.

Kristie sets aside 10% of every purchase to a scholarship fund for the larger vision of Enspirare: to help ease the burden of grief for families who have lost a child to pediatric cancer. Everything Enspirare offers is free (or by donation) for these families. If that applies to you, please email me at enspirare@gmail.com for a code.

Kristie has experienced that people often want to help but don't know what to do; the scholarship fund is a built-in way for the community to help families who've been through the particular hell of child loss from pediatric cancer and are trying to find their breath again.

Thank you so very much!

do you offer refunds?

A full refund will be given before 30 days of the event. Within 30 days, a 50% refund will be given, or the purchase price can be applied to another event or service Kristie offers. You can also transfer your registration to another person by emailing enspirare@gmail.com.

what if it rains?

Kristie has an indoor space if the weather isn’t suitable to being outside; she will alert participants within 24 hours if there is a location change. The alternate location would still be within 20 minutes of downtown Asheville.

kind words from participants of Communal Grief & Joy gatherings

“In our culture grief is so often pushed into the dark corners to be dealt with individually. While recognizing we each have our own path with grief, Kristie shines a light on the gift of sharing both the pains and the joys in grieving that ultimately help to bring us healing. She creates safe spaces that invite feelings of grief to be voiced and held with tenderness in whatever way they show up.”

—Katherine

"Through a grounding and beautiful guided ritual and process, Kristie offers a powerful gift of supporting others as they lean into their own experience around grief and loss. Her deep heart-based presence, blended with the resonance of her lived experience, creates a space that allows for others to move into their process. Kristie is able to quickly establish a felt sense of safety that allows you to trust that all emotions are welcome and accessible. She helps normalize this process in a way that our society does not offer guidance on how to navigate, or even acknowledge. Kristie is a gifted and wise guide who has so much to offer in learning how to "follow joy and walk with grace" in this human experience that is full of love and pain and everything in between."

“Kristie's compassion for supporting people through their grief journey is truly remarkable. Her guidance and caring personality helped me acknowledge the complex emotions of my grief and to welcome joyful moments for inner peace. Attending Kristie’s event was an important step during my healing journey.”

Your life has led you to this moment: the sorrow and anguish, the laughter and mirth. You are so very worthy of the time to cultivate a deeper relationship with your voices of grief, your body and your Soul Essence.

Mystic, Priestess, Bridge between Worlds

Kristie Beth

After the death of my 13 year old daughter, Liana Joy, to cancer, I didn't know how I would breathe again, much less actually live. Deep kindness surrounded me as soon as she left her physical form: I heard Liana’s voice and felt her enormous presence. I’ve come to realize that she gave me instructions when she said, “Mama, there's just so much JOY!”

As I continue to surf waves of grief that ebb and flow - and yes, sometimes take me under - Liana continually invites me to FOLLOW JOY!  It's through following the felt experiences of joy that I am also able to swim in the depths of grief's waters, and not only find my breath, but also receive the sacred treasures that lie in the deep.

It is an enormous honor to guide others into whatever depth of water they're ready to enter.
